Dunalley Golf Course

Played Sunday, March 10, 2024.

Located just South of Sorell, the 9-hole golf course was extremely dry when we played it in the March long weekend.

It’s a very short course and features a hole which is the shortest Tim and I have ever played on a proper course – at 73 metres – though it’s protected by a pond in the front of the green and a bunker behind.

The fairways simply couldn’t hold the ball. A fade or draw that hit the fairway would rarely stay but bounce into trees either side.

The opening hole is 240m par 4. It’s pretty tight and straight, guarded by trees both sides.

My drive was straight, just missing to the right but ran through to the second tee bed. At 270m is was a massive drive for me.

It definitely made you think differently on how to play the course.

It was a challenge to play a course that the fairways were faster than the greens.

Green fees were $20 and great clubhouse and welcoming locals.

The first hole... a short 240m par 4
